Can You Power Wash…?

All Clean Exteriors is here to answer all the commonly asked questions about what surfaces can be power washed. Keep reading and learn what you can and can’t power wash.

Can You Power Wash Vinyl Siding?

Absolutely. Vinyl siding is one of the most commonly power washed surfaces. Be sure to use low pressure and bleach mix cleaning solution to prevent damaging the vinyl siding.

Check out this previous blog if you have ever wondered what  the green stuff on your siding is?

Can You Power Wash Aluminum Siding?

Yes. Aluminum siding is a strong surface, but often requires low pressure as well. Aluminum can easily dent from too high of water pressure.

Can You Pressure Wash Stucco?

Yes. Similar to power washing vinyl siding, stucco cleans up nicely with low pressure power washing. The combination of a cleaning solution and the water will ensure great results without causing damage. Be careful as this surface is very delicate and easily damaged by the DIYer.

Can You Power Wash Brick?

Oh yea! Another surface that requires soft washing (aka low water pressure). Bricks and porous which often traps algae and moss. These contaminants can easily be removed with a cleaning detergent.

Can You Power Wash Concrete?

Yes. Similar to brick, concrete is also porous. This will cause dirt and algae to build up on the surface. The combination will cause discoloration over time. Depending on the location, surface cleaning concrete can make quick work of flushing out all those contaminates and restore the color of the concrete  to brand new.

Can You Pressure Wash Pavers?

Yes. You can safely power wash pavers. This surface is often power washed with a surface cleaner. This is not DIY job as power washing pavers will remove the polymeric sand between pavers. Once cleaned, new sand must be properly added.

Can You Power Wash a Roof?

Yes and no. I would caution using the words “power wash” when cleaning a asphalt shingle roof. This surface is so soft and delicate that the water pressure must be extremely low. We use a proprietary cleaning solution combined with soft washing techniques to clean roofs. This is a very popular and important service as it will certainly increase the lifespan of your roof shingles.

Can You Power Wash Windows?

Yes. Although you can power wash windows, nothing beats the “old fashioned” way. That means a microfiber cloth and squeegee. But if you choose to power wash, use the proper pressure and a hard water filter to prevent water spots.

Can You Power Wash Furniture?

Depends. You can certainly rinse down most patio furniture with low pressure. But, the risk of damage and rust increases over time. A common furniture material to clean is wood.

Can You Power Wash a Car?

Yes. You guess it, power washing a car requires low water pressure. This will prevent causing damage to the paint and/or scratches and dents.

Can You Pressure Wash Rugs?

No. I would suggest using a carpet scrubber as opposed to power washing a rug.

Can You Power Wash a Fence?

Absolutely! We often power wash vinyl fences along with wooden fences. Again, using our proprietary cleaning detergent and low water pressure, the results are incredible.

Can You Power Wash a Refrigerator?

No. Use a common all purpose cleaning cleanser and possibly bleach. Power washing any type of appliance will most likely destroy it.

Can You Pressure Wash a Grill?

I wouldn’t. I suggest using a high quality, food safe grill cleaning solution along with hand scrubbing with a steel brush. Surprisingly this will be faster and easier than using a power washer.
